Sounds good to me, mine cost 250 something after taxes about 4 years ago at a local gun shop. Only came with three chokes though. What five chokes are you getting? That is a lot of chokes!

Where I live guns don't cost anymore than anything else, standard sales tax is all.

There is an excise tax on firearms and ammo, but I think that the feds get it up front from the manufacturers based on the dealer cost. Of course, the consumer still pays it, but it's built right into the retail price on the rack. One of the many "hidden" taxes we pay all the time. It's a lot like gasoline/diesel fuel taxes. State sales tax is ON TOP of the Federal tax. Really, we're paying tax on the tax, since sales tax is based on the retail price which has the Fed excise tax built into it. It's the same kind of garbage that prompted our nations forfathers to throw a little tea party in Boston Harbor. Alas, that spirit is long gone from this country...look at the politicians we elect for ample evidence of this on both sides of the isle.

But yes, that sounds like a very good price for that Mossburg.

It's a good deal no mater what stock or how many chokes. The usual chokees sold with a 500 is the Cylinder, Modified, and full cholke. Other than a super full or turkey choke I don't know what else they would be offering.
Good deal either way.
