Default Blued vs Stainless

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the stainless and blued barrels? Do you prefer one over the other and why?

Stainless is more corrosion-resistant and easier to take care of. Stainless is also slightly more rigid than blued steel. I prefer blued for hunting because it is not as visible, and sometimes I have been known to do a camo paint job on a rifle, and I would hate to do that to a nice looking stainless rig.

Actually a blued barrel can cause more glare than a bead blasted stainless barrel on a sunny day.

Stainless is all-around better than chome-moly. Blued steel looks a heck of a lot better with a nice walnut stock however.

With todays surface coatings, stainless is more versatile than ever, this is a stainless GM barrel I had Duracoated matte black
That"™s a powder coat finish, isn"™t it ? We have some our products at work finished in that Duracoat and our customers find it to be very durable...

i am the odd guy i like blue, because i like the traditional look and i am sure that if the corrosion is the problem when hunting take a small cleaning kit i do just in case, and i am not gonna pay extra for stainless when it does the same as the blued barrle

for hunting i would go with blue black powder coated or camo for target or all purpose gun i would go stainless i think the stainless will rust less and stand up more thats why they use it for grills and high price cooking pans

I love my new stainless Ruger. I used to wipe down my blued guns every night after hunting. Coming in from the cold wiping off any condensation, or rain, or snow. Then your left with oil smell all over and your bound to take that in woods with you. Stainless can wait till huntings done and be cleaned it goes in the safe. Also, no finger prints or anything else shows up. As far as being visible; the thing that deer is going to see is two circles. One big one and one little one;the scope and the end of barrel!
