Default .243 Winchester 85-gr Barnes TSX

On whitetails? Any experiences? Ive been using 100 Grain Sierra Gameking BTSP and have no real problems but have read good things about the 85 grain TSX's.

I don't really see the need on whitetails..The bullet you are using is good one..If you want more penetration or aren't getting pass throughs, try the Federal Premium 100gr Nosler Partition, 100gr Hornady InterLock or the 100gr CoreLokt.

Ive used 85 grain .243s on deer with great success. Never tried the TSX though.

I would also like to know how they perform, when I get my .243 Ackley I would like to use them on deer also.

I used to use the plain flat base 75 gr X bullet at 3800fps in my 6mmx284 years ago before they were discontinued. That particular load worked like a charm on coyotes and deer sized game and shot very very well. I see no reason why the 85 TSX wouldnt work for you, that little bullet has great penetration abilities.
