Default Barrel break in

I bought a Sagave model 11 .243 and after reading the owners manual went to the website and found this page for breaking in the barrel. There was nothing mentioned in the owners manual about it, only on the web site, is this procedure necessary?

Default RE: Barrel break in

Fire the 1st 10 shots, cleaning after EVERY shot, then clean after every 2-3 shots for 10-20 times. Then it'll be properly broken in.
