Default Looking for a new Rifle Set Up

For next season I need to get another Big Game rifle, I need astep (or a couple) up from my 270,somthing big enough to take down Moose and Elk. I cant spend over $700 CDN for the gun, a scope, mounts, sling, swivels, ect. What do you guy suggest?

Remington 700 SPS in .300 RUM or .300 Win Mag. Top it off with a Leupold VX-1 scope and go hunting.

A .270 can, does and will, do what you have listed. Might want to take the 700 CDN and get a better scope or take a nice hunting trip somewhere... unless you just really want a new toy.

I'd buy the best scope you can, and then mounts.... whatever you have left, buy the rifle.. it may well be second hand, but the scope is so much more important.

They have a very good selection of used rifles. You just might find something in your price range. Check the link and go into the firearms , used bolt actions... www.ellwoodepps.com

You can also check out Cabelas online for used guns, they have some pretty awesome deals sometimes.

Keep an eye on the classifieds, etc and you just might find something in the offseason within in your budget. I use a 7mm rem mag and have never felt under gunned for upto moose, that said if I loved my 270win/planning to keep it for use on deer down and just wanted a bigger game #2 rifle I'd opt for a338wm. Second choice in this scenario would be a 300wm. If I wanted one for everything it would be the 7mm rem mag. Second choice would be the same: 300wm.
