I'm sorry, I don't have any pictures of it to post, but I would really appreciate some opinions.
I have a 1925 Winchester Model 12 20 guage Trap grade. I wasn't aware of the year of production until I got it appraised the other day.
It has never been fired, and is in VERY good shape. Stock looks brand new. The only detraction is that after it was purchased in the early '50s (for a woman) the original butt-stock was removed and replaced with a shorter one.
Other than being a collecable, I really have no intrest in the gun. I am therefore looking to sell it. My question is, do you think that the $1,200 offer I got for the gun was fair? Or do you think I should get another appraisal elsewhere and try to get more for it?
Thank you very much for any insight!

Well, i have a Winchester model 12, 12 gauge and i've been told its worth $500+. I do not believe it was manufactured any where near 1925 but none the less it is still a semi rare model. Now granted, my gun has been used extensively for hunting but is still in great condition. I would say that though the $1200 offer is good i would hold off.Your shot gunwill do nothing but go up in value, hang onto it and see what comes of it.
Thank you for the replies guys. I appreciate the input.

The model 12 is the only Win pump I'd own.Their 1200,1300 and 1400 series are crap typically the magazine catch that holds the two shells in the tube release two rounds on firing the one in the barrel creating a doublefeed jam. This happened in mine continually and a friends as well.If you put one in the barrel and one in the mag it was fine but a two shooter not three.................Harold

RE: I need opinions about a Win. Model 12 20 ga.
Pioneer2...........Over the years I have owned two 1400's, a 1300 and a 1200. Not once did any of them malfunction for me. I will admit none are Model 12's, but mine are and were far from CRAP!!
Aside to the original post, I really don't believe the Model 12 in discussion is a Trap model. Trap is shot predominately with the 12 ga. It is a possibility that it is a Skeet gun. Price?? What the market will bear, and how badly someone wants it.

In view of the fact that it is NOT original due to the changed stock, that offer is very fair. It would be worth a lot less if it was not otherwise in unfired mint condition.
