Default New Shooting Iron...FNH A1 308 Win

This is what I got for my birthday present today.

FN A1 in 308 Win topped off with Leupold Mark IV Illuminated 4.5x14x50 with TMR reticle. Have been doing some shooting with the338 Lapua and boy it gets expensive to shoot so I decided to go with a more economical roundI fired a few rounds of Black Hills Match through ityesterday and it shot ok, nothing great but it held under the 1 MOA guarantee. The trigger pull on this rifle has alot to be desired as far as I am concerned, it breaks at 4lbs 14ozs with some creep. I will try to lighten it up or find a Jewell for it.I have 1000 168gr SMK's and 200 Berger 168 gr VLD's on hand to find a load that it will like. I have plenty of Varget and was going to try that for starters. What other powders out there does well with the 168? I ought to give the 175's a try too.

Good looking rifle. I would like to try one out one of these days.

A golf course is a willful and deliberate misuse of a perfectly good rifle range.

Thats the gun. The one I load for, you can load rocks to hit MOA. And the wild thing, is, it doesn't copper foul. At all. And I like that. And coldbore one shot performance is right there. POI same, whether I fire off 5 shots one at a time or come back on a 25F degree day.

My birthday is Monday...me too! On second thought, I just put some money down on a Cooper M52 that the "boss" doesn't know about yet... guess I'd better be quiet.

bugsNbows............you wont be disapointed in the Cooper. I happen to have 5 of them. Take a gander at this 52 custom classic in 25-06.

Awesome Cooper doubleA. I'm also going with the quarter bore. It's just not that fancy!
