Default New Rifle!

Hey guys I just bought a new rifle today! (new to me anyways) I got a used Browning a-bolt 30-06 it has a few scratches but nothing major. it will be used to primarily hunt moose and whitetails. I am also hoping to take a black bear! Any comments on this rifle would be appericated your experiences what ever I am just curious what you guys think! Also what bullets should I use?? Now I gotta find a scope!

congrats on the rifle, for bullets check out any of the premium brands from the "big 5" (rem, win, fed, speer, hornady) plus there are a few others floatin around out there, for moose i would think 180grain partition would be good for bears and deers too. if you want a good scope i;m a diehard leupold man, never had before till about 3months ago, clearest scope i;ve ever used, check out the used market some good deals can be found

Congratulations! I have a Browning A-Bolt in 270wsm. I'm quite happy with it. I have Leupold scopes on both of my rifles. I like the optics and generous eye relief. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I use Remington 165 gr Pointed Soft Points for whitetails here in GA.......Easy to find, accurate, and not too expensive.

I'd go with the 180 gr for moose and bear, and they would be fine for whitetails as well.

Just remember....hunt with the same bullets you use on the range. At least the same gr weight.

i have the same exact rilfe but it is a medallion. it is quite the shooter . getting 1" holes at 100yds out of the box. put a nice quality scope on and some premium bullets and you will be all ready to go.

I curently have 2 a-bolt medalions , many best friend has 2, and his uncle has 3 a-bolt hunters. out of those 7 guns I have yet to here of any problems. all are great shooters and real sweet guns to handle. Like em so much I had to drive 2 hrs. yesterday to find another one in .300 rum. so now I have 3. You have got a great rifle and will be very pleased.
