How about caliber of the Week ?

Is it O.K. with you guy's if we do a caliber of the week?

Start out with a little one .Let's do the Remington . .17 center fire first.Opinions ,gripes, problems,pros,cons.What do ya'll think?

Caliber of the week might be fun.

The main con I see with the 17 Remington is the fact that the bullets are just too light to handle the winds in Wyoming......

They were awful hard to chrongraph with the old paper screen chronographs.

............but they sure are fun to fool with. I've yet to load for my .17 Fireball, and am about half afraid to do so because of the scary accuracy I've gotten so far with factory ammo. It is very definitely a "specialty" cartridge, and I would never recommend it to those who are wanting greater versatility. It is what it is.

My little brother acquired one in a trade a few years ago, he loves it....
He keeps it in the truck or on the 4-wheeler and shoots groundhogs, crows, foxes and other vermin...It's relatively cheap to shoot, pretty quiet so he doesn't disturb the neighbors and doesn't kick (he has developed a flinching habit from the .270)...

I think the big thing is, he is shooting some in the off season...

Pa i just bought a 17 fireball have not shot it yet. U having probs with yours. Also own a 17 rem really good on yotes .

Had one in a T/C Contender years ago........man was it fun on crows!!!! Fouling was an issue but it was still a fun gun.
