I bought a newRemington LH 700 VSF in 22-250. I am going to rebarrel it to a 1in8 twist for the 75 grain V-Max. I want to be able to see impact's, but I prefer not to put a brake on the rifle. Weight is not an issue. I will only shoot the rifle from a fixed position. I would also like to achieve 3300 fps. Is there a particular length and contour barrel that will allow me to achieve this?? I can see bullet impact with my heavy-barrel 243 shooting 80 bullets at 3350fps, so I'd imagine you should be able to see bullet impact just fine. Just don't zoom your scope in too far.

Tom, that should be doable, I see impacts most of the time with my 6.5 Gibbs without a break. Get a broughton 5C about 28" long (this should get you the speed) in a contour about like a senduro, or lilja #8, in a good varmint stock (wide forend to ride the bags well) I like the joel Russo A5L. a rifle as such weighs 15# scoped.
