Default AR 15 help, any experts?

I am trying to build my first AR 15 and was looking at DPMS, MK12 18" and the SDM-R 20" uppers. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with these or opions? I already have a DPMS Pardus lower so I am half way there and stuck on which upper to buy, thanks for your help.

Ben

You'll get much better help and advice from AR15.com It might have a dash in it so just google it first.

They are helpful there but not very nice.

The scoop on AR's
They are all parts guns, all of them with the exception of OLY are purchased from a pool of vendors and assembled. They are all about equal, they may use this companies barrel, and that companies upper, but its just how the guy running the QC is feeling that day.
Oly and RRA have a lifetime warranty, but they are a lil higher than most of the others.
Pick out the features you want in an upper and do your homework and you can't go wrong.
I have RRA, OLY, J&T, and tromix variants of the AR and they're all good.

Ridgerunner-don't forget les bauer. They are assembled with excellent quality control and parts/materials.

yeah sb, but les assembles with the best parts that money can buy, not your typical parts house gun.

I would agree with looking on ar15.com! I'm on there and there is some good advice if you can wade through some egos.I don't buy that Oly is onlycomplete built ar,My cmmg is pretty darn complete enless I wanted special parts.CMMG barrel, same lower upper is theirs,I just wanted some things different. There's alot of non-colt guns out there that are well built but still affordable.I don't care what brand as long as function is built in!

Everyone say's that all the parts and rifle's are the same. That may be true-I do not consider myself an expert on AR parts. I have owned a dozen of them. And I have been around a bunch of them. IMO the Rock River is the best shooter. Why I do not know, but they are the best shooter's(that I have seen).

I do know that you can send the same barrel to five different gunsmith's, and one gunsmith will normally stand out as being able to get the best accuracy from a particular barrel manufacturer-that all smith's have access to. If this was not true then all gunsmith's would charge the same for their work. And we know that is not true. My current RRAR is unbelievably accurate. Below is a group I shot at 300 yards. Yes 300 yards. Tom.

There all good , and why they are all good is ,that if you don't like the way it shoots or handles or fits , you can change it or find readily available parts to repair or upgrade to make it shoot and or handle better. Get a base rifle and have fun with it , change it you want or leave it along and just shoot.
