I was recently given a rifle that was my grandfathers when he passed.I know for a fact it is a 243 win. But can not figure out what make the rifle is.I have look this gun over 100 times and there is no name or model number on it.the only thing i can find is the name Fajen on the but plate. but i was told by a guy on another fourm that Fajen was a companywho just makes stocks. There are four numbers on the drop plate on the bottom and there is the serial number on the reciver. Is there any way i can have the serial number checked and if so where. I am not much on computers but my wife is going to help me post some pictures soon.

A serial number means absolutely nothing unless the maker is known, as most manufacturers put serial numbers on their stuff. There could be literally thousands of rifles with the same serial number, but made by a wide variety of makers all over the world.
Yes, Fajen made after-market stocks, MOST of which ended up on various "sporterized" military rifles ............
