M1 Garand...

RE: M1 Garand...
Parts are widely available, in fact CMP can get you pretty much any part you need.
Barrels- Krieger makes two types of barrels for the M1, one is of GI profile and is reasonably priced, the other is a match barrel.
Another place to buy a Garand and parts from, though it'll cost more than CMP is here:

Fulton armory and Dean's gun restoration both service and rebuild M1s and carry parts.

here's the service grade HRA I got about 4 years ago:
Nothing wrong with the springfield INC rifles, except that they cost 2x as much and are more or less 'replicas' of Garands.

DANG!!!!!!!
There's no way they're all in such an excellent shape? Are they all when in "service grade"? If so, that's amazing.

Probably not all in that good of shape. Like I said earlier, most of the service grade rifles have been rearsenalled or rebuilt at military arsenals/depots. The stocks will be in good condition, the rifles will function correctly, all of the parts will be within specs, and the barrels will be nearly new. Its pretty typical to get stocks with mismatched wood though.

Doe Dumper
It was in national forest land and I remember having to drive there from the camp , I think (to long ago ,not sure ) they called it some thing like Cheek mountain or some thing like that.
The Garand is probably the most fun to shoot , seems like every one at the range is watching you shoot and the clang of theclip when it pops out and clanging when it hits the ground really gets them looking.
