Default Can my scope handle the recoil???

I am thinking about getting a Burris 3-9X40 for my 300wby. I have one (Burris 4.5-14X42)on my other rifle that doen't have as much recoil and love the optics!!!

Any thoughts, opinions

I thought a tool like you would know optics and know what they can handle. Goodness man, what a tool.

After a question like that, I guess its obvious who is what on here.

Burris is a one of the better mid range scopes and most likely would handle it.

I have a 3-9X40 fullfield II on a 338 ultra mag and it holds up just fine with no shift in point of impact.

Everyone listen to this guy he has watched "glass grind"

Once again, thx for bringing so much intelligence to the conversation bigcountry, I suppose this is what 6-years of high school earns you.

Please disregard this weirdo, and thx for the quality replies.

You'll probably be fine with the Burris. However, John Barnsess (writer, gunsmith, overall gun looney) has stated that for the higher recoiling rigs he likes Bushnell Elite 4200's. Not that he's a genius or anything, but he is very knowledgable and qualified to render such judgements. He certainly knows a heck of alot more than I do! Good luck.
