Recommendations

I am wanting to purchase a military style semiautomatic that is accurate with range and that shoots easily obtained ammo. I really dontknow where to start and would appreciate recommendations on rifle and source. Thank you.

look long and hard at the M-1 Garand

The M1 Garand would be my first choice. SKS would be a far cheaper choice but you'll definately have less range.

hmmm the m1 grand is a good rifle...the sks is a smaller round but ive nailed hanging steel plate targets about 18x18 or so from 250 easy with a sks...and it was zerod at 100 i think so it wasnt dropping much...whats your price range and what are you looking to do with the rifle?? the shoot ar-15s at 500m all the time in the military....but it doesnt have much umph at that range say if you wanted to take deer because its only a 223....all depends on what your doing with it....i like L1A1s too...they are chamberd in 308 and pretty accurate..i mean ive never put them on paper but even the full auto ones ive shot hit in the area i wanted....so what do you want to do with this rifle and what are you looking to spend?
