Default Break Free cleaning product.

My son gave a bottle of Break Free cleaning solution for cleaning barrels. He mentioned that this is all they us in the army for cleaning there weapons. Has anyone ever used or heard of this product? I was going to use it but one product that does it all, for cleaning , lubricating & preserving. Is this possible...?

Trailer - i would not say Break-free is the end all and be all. I usually like to scrub my barrels with a good bore scrubber and brush - then i use break-free to coat (lightly) the inside of the barrel and all moving parts as well a light going over on all external parts. It is great stuff though, in my opinion. Good luck with it - and tell your son to get you as much as he can.

I use a bore scrubber and follow-up with break-free. I use it mostly as a lubricant/protectant. I don't think it does too good a job on copper.

Yep......G-96

Well sort of. I don't use it to clean the barrels but I use it for everything else on the gun. You can use it for barrels but there are other cleaners far better especially on copper and lead deposits, but it does clean, lubricate and protect very well....it's all I use

x-mountie, the funny thing is that he told me he can get as much as I want.

devil dog, 1982, that was just yesterday wasn"™t it.

jaw3, thanks for the info.

BigTinny, I think that it might not be perfect for copper as you mentioned but will give it a go and see.

BigJ, the bottle my son gave me is in liquid form that has to be shaken before being used and has a plastic cap for applying the solution.

Thanks guy, I was a little hesitant in using it but not any more...
