Has anyone been able to put their hands on the new Icon?

I was watching Gametrails, and I am pretty sure Weishum used one to kill a Red Stag. There is one on Gunbroker, and just from the looks, the $1000 price tag doesn't seem that bad.

I absolutely DO NOT need another rifle, but the Icon sure does look tempting.

That price seems way high to me. Isn't the MSRP $800? That would mean real world price would be around $700 more than likely. I would wait a couple months and see what happens when they become more readily available.

I just inquired at my local shop on Saturday. Was told me that none were available, but she would be selling them for $820. So, $1,000 seems kinda steep unless you choose to pay the premium to get your hands on one.

I actually have no intention of buying an Icon anytime soon if ever. I am just asking if anyone has put their hands on one yet. They do LOOK like nice guns. I am currently shooting a Blaser R-93 now and have more than $1000 in my barrel, so $800-$1000 for a "whole gun" seems very reasonable.

As far as not being available, there is an auction for one on Gunbroker, and IF they are that hard to get, then the $1000 price tag may be justifiable. I can assure you that if I had a new gun that no one else had, I would definitely jack the price too.

They're awesome guns from what I see, but no I haven't been able to get my hands on one. Many people say too heavy, but an extra pound from the quality and features is no problem at all IMO. I'll bet they're gonna still be selling for over $800 for awhile. Give them a year or two to get production up, and get a better cartridge selection, then I'll bet they'll drop $100 or more.
