please help-i did something REALLY DUMB

was cleaning my rem 700(7 rem mag) this morning. i decided to save time and ran one of those quickclean swipes w/ a patch behind it thru the barrell. it is very stuck and im very pissed. any suggestions? ive tried everything and it won budge. how much will this cost me to take to a gunsmith? also how much does a gumsmith charge to lighten a trigger? thanks in advance.
p.s. this has to be one of my dumbest ideas ever.

what do you mean stuck inside the barrel? is it just lodged? or is it stuck to the side of the barrel? i would get some kind of cleaner that you use to clean your barrel and saturate the patch with it and try to push your cleaning rod down the barrel to see if it will budge.

Well, o2bebowhunting, I cant help you much with your first problem (though I wouldnt do anything else till you talked to a smith or someone about it..maybe even the guy I am about suggest). I dont know about prices, but I am gonna recommend one of the best gunsmiths around. His name is Jeff Hicks. His website is at http://members.tripod.com/Hicksdesigns/index.htm . Trust me, you will NOT be displeased with his work. I have never personally had any work done by him. But he will be doing any and all work on any of my rifles from now on. He posts there under the name of Celt. Do a search for the name, read through several posts dedcated to his work, or just post a question for him. Its not hard to contact him and if he cant help you get that thing out safely, I dont know who can. g'luck

yes, the patch and most of the cleanswipe cord is stuck in the barell. its about2 inches from where the bolt ends. its suck real bad. im going to try a patchpuller next.

I've gotten a stuck fired case out of a rifle chamber with a 1/4 inch brass rod about 30" long. I tapered the front edge just a little,and very carefully slide it down the barrel and tap it with a lite hammer and it came out with no trouble. Mite try that with the patch. Any hardware store will carry the brass rod. Zeak

Bebowhunting; I think Zeak has a good idea, but make sure to use a brass rod so you don't damage the barrel and take your time.

Zeak that is what a gunsmith will do ,good advice. Thats what I have done for bullets that people forgot to put the powder in and the primer pushed the bullet into the barrel.
