cleaning up rust?
I have a remington 512 which is a single shot bolt action 22 passed down to me and it has quite a bit of rust and I would like to know how to get the rust off because oil just doesn't do it!

RE: cleaning up rust?
Try oil or WD40 with some very fine steel wool.

I use gunbrite.
Gunbrite seems to do very well incleaning but not removing blueing.

RE: cleaning up rust?
Have you tried Rem Oil? Rust always comes off whenever I use that.

High Quality gun oil and a nylon bristol toothbrush. MAYBE copper bristol, if youare careful. Has worked for me.
Good Luck
