WOW talk about a loaded ( no pun intended <grin> ) question. The answeer depends on budget .... NEF makes a nice single shot for about $ 250.00 after that Remmington, Winchester, Ruger, Browning, Weathreby, Tika, Sako

I don't know if pump action is your bag but Remington makes a good pump action model 7600 and you can also get a synthetic model. I had one and have always regretted selling it. The gun was very accurate. Good luck in your hunt for a rifle.

We could all list our favorite brand, but I'd suggest you take a look at the various brands within your price range and just pick the one that strikes you best. Outside of the really cheap stuff, about any of the rifles on the current market are well made and dependable.

price range, i dunno, 500 or so i guess. There isn't really a fine line there.

I would like a bolt action.

Just not sure which brand or model is worth looking at.

If that is your budget, check out the Wal-Mart Weatherby. It is made by Howa and is quite a rifle for the money. I think you might be able to get into a Tikka and/or a CZ for that money, as well.

Also, some Wal-marts carry Howa rifles. (yes they started stamping the Howa name on it) I know Howa makes the .270 in most of their rifles (not the varminter). And, I personally like Howa rifles. Great prices and pretty accurate at the same time. Just a consideration...

They are all good guns it just depends what makes you happy. Which one is the most accurate depends on whom you ask . Find one you like in the price range you want to pay and enjoy it, they all work.
