You are really charging about 30.00$ more than you advertize because I ship guns to and from all the time and it has NEVER cost over 20.00$ including ins. Why are you trying to rip off fellow huntingnet members ??????? We ALL KNOW it don't cost $50.00 to ship a long gun!!!

I have to tell you Stalkingbear, I just sold a gun for the first time to an out-of-state person that required shipping through FFL's and my local sporting goods store charged me $50 for the FFL, shipping, insurance and handling. They won't touch a gun unless they do the packing so I guess this is how they justified the charge. I was horrified at first. I have only bought guns up until now and it is usually only a $25-$30 charge for them to receive the gun and do the required paperwork. I might have found someone else cheaper for this transaction, but not sure who else has an FFL anywhere close to me so I just bit the bullet so to speak. I am sure there are many dealers with FFL's around that will do the transaction for much less, but don't assume the guy is ripping the public off because maybe it is the FFL holders that are really to blame. I guess this is one way the sporting goods stores assure that you will only buy from them! I know I will be much more careful in the future. I would be very interested in hearing from others how much their FFL's charge to ship a gun out.

I apoligize then. I never thought about them charging you as I don't have to do that having my own ffl.

Our local gun store charges 25.00 for the FFL plus the actual cost of shipping. Usually comes to 35-45 dollars.
