I have ausedRemington 870 Express Magnum with a26" barrel and wood stocksin very good conditionthat I am going to try and get a partial trade for a Stoeger 2000 and I was just wondering what I should try and get for the 870. I have never sold or traded a gun before and don't know what the gun is worth. I bought it used 4 years ago for $200.
If anyone could help me out, I would appreciate it,

Since 870's are priced relatively cheap when new, a used one will not be worth much. Since you are talking trading it, I would probably just hang on to it rather than give it away.
In my experience, someone always comes out on the losing end in a trade, and it is usually the person initiating it.
If you are trading it to a gun shop, I'd be happy getting $150, depending on what kind of shape its in, $115-125 is more realistic... but don't be offended if you only get offered $100. Thats on a trade now, gun shops gotta keep the lights on and the employees fed.
You might could find a buyer for $175, if you have some extras with it. Gun shops usually don't care about extra chokes or other things like that... doesn't increase trade value any.... but it does increase perceived value to third market buyers.

I bought my very first shotgun when I was 11 ( I earned the money and dad bought it for me at the end of summer), it was an 870 Express 12 gauge with a 26" barrel, got it for $186 brand spankin new. I liked those gun prices alot better back then!
Anyone know if they make or did make a 3" barrel for an 870 with a 24" barrel? I've been trying to find something other than the 21" barrel on the 3" Turkey guns. I'm going to buy myself another 870 to use as a beater gun in my pickup year round.
What is a used 870 worth??
