Default BLR hammer extention?

I was woundering If anyone has rin into this same problem. I've got a new BLR with the folding hammer. I went through the leupold web sight and they listed the use of low mounts with the VX1, 2x7 which I used. The problem is, with gloves I'm going to get burned at some point. It's just to close. I've tried to find an extension for the last year with no luck with all the usual venders and manuf. I wanted to ask if you all thought that going to a set of med. rings would do the trick? I hate to buy them and them find out that one of you knows where to get an ext. Thanks for your idias. Matt

There were two makers that know of for the hammer extention. Because of some safety litgation, they discontinued manufacture of them. I see that someone has resumed manufacture but don' remember who it was. I use them on my Savage, NEF Handygun, and Contender. Check the parts counter in Cabela's, Bass Pro, and Sportsmans Warehouse. You might ck some of the smaller shops or gunsmiths. Good luck.

I also used to have a Browning BLR and found the best solution
is just using the gloves that are half fingerless.Still keeps your
hands warm but still full control over your exposed hammer. What
a great gun and mine was extremely accurate.Hope this helps you
out but it is a simple fix. Mike

Rossi still makes them. It looks like it could be made to fit different hammers.
