Default H&R SLUG HUNTER DELUXE

Looking into buying the 20 gauge model and just wondering if anyone owns it and what the reviews of it are

OK - once again, I have 2. A 12 gauge Deluxe and a 20 gauge standard. Get the right ammo and sight it in and it will deliver time and time again.

I have also been looking and want to know, would you get 12 or 20 gauge and what is a good price for a new one. I went into a gun store today and they have the 20 gauge ultra slug hunter for 209.00 and they have a 12 gauge deluxe for 229.00. I'm a sucker for laminated stocks but feel the 20 gauge would be a better choice. What you think.

Ditto absolut40 - get the 20 gauge. One of my hunting buddies has one and I've used it before. Very accurate gun. Little recoil. Still deadly on deer. My friend put a decent scope on his and uses Lightfield sabots - 2 years ago he dropped a nice 8-pointer in its tracks at 120 yards. Great gun!!!

Absolutely! I have the NEF version in 20, which I think they're about the same, and I've heard that they all shoot lights out with Lightfields. 100 yards with the 20 is like shooting ducks on the pond.

Lightfields were the first slugs i shot out of mine. They shot inch and a half groups at 100 yds.Im sure theres other slugs that would shoot just as good if not better but im not gonna complain about how the lightfields shoot.

They are no where near the "same". NEF = thin-wall, rifled barrel with rifled sights. Still a good gun.

H&R USH = rifled HEAVY, thick-wallbull barrel, no sights, just scope rail.

Grab yourself a scoped in H&R USH in 12 gauge and throw 5 Brenekke 3-inch Gold Mags at a paper plate 100 yards out. See how many are on the plate and how your shoulder feels.

Now do it with an NEF. How many are on the plate and how does your shoulder feel NOW?
