Default HELP...What To Do???

Guys, I need help. I have a trade pending, then the guy thru me a curve....too many options.

First option was a Savage NIB Lam TH stock, heavy blue fluted bbl. and a NIB scope for my Encore frame and stock. Great Trade IMO.

Thenhe (gunsmith and shop owner) says well, he was going to use the frame to try to make a barrel of his own for (his business once he gets it) but is busy now and if I throw in the bbl, he will trade me one of the following instead.

1. Tikka model 65 in 30-06 w/only 38rds. Blue/synthetic w/scope Tikka smooth and 2# trigger that breaks like glass.
or
2. Custom Mauser 98 actionw/ adams and bennet bbl trued and hand lapped in a Houge overmold stock, pillar bedded in 35whelen caliber. He showed proof of well under MOA shooting.

Now here is my dilema. The Savage I plan to sell for a good price and keep the scope. This also leaves me my 22-250 stainless barrel and scope to sell seperately. This will actually put me over what I was asking (or it should) financially a Great Trade.

However, Not really being a fan of the 30-06 but a true fan of the Tikka's, that would be a great all around rifle to put in the safe and keep.

Then again, I have a soft spot for customs and like "odd" calibers that aren't too far out there that require forming your own brass and no chance to find if you were on a trip and lost your ammo. The Whelen is a great knock down/drag out cartridge in its own right.

Here it is 0300 eastern time and I can't sleep for thinking of what to do. I have to tell him in the morning which one I will take.

Keeping in mind I am a hobbyist guntrader.....What would you do???

Would the sale of the savage overide the cost of a tika in your cal. choice? If not , jump on the tika, o6's are good allround choices for just about everthing. Just my thoughts. GB 50

CMA that is exactly what I am thinking. It is a vz24 action and still has the orig. safety....they stink if you ask me.
I think the savage should fetch $300 and the barrel/scope the same...or a little more and I get the Pentax scop that I need.

That is what I am gonna do.
Besides that I have an opportunity to buy a 35 whelen AI done RIGHT for about that same money.

Decision Made.
