Default Can someone talk me through a refinish job?

I bought a used blr and the owner stripped the original finish it is now a blond color. I want a dark color with an oil or satin finish. I don't know what to use or how to start. I'm not very good at this kind of stuff.

Tell you what. Midway guns has complete kits with detailed instructions that are foolproof. You can get them for wood, metal or both. They are relatively inexpensive, contain most of what you need except tools to take the gun apart. Doa search for Midway or get a catalog from them and get the kit. It will be a much nicer job in the end.

Can you take the gun apart? If not , ask them for a schematic of the rifle, they will have one. They will also have folks to help you if you get in a bind.

I could talk you through it if you wish, but this is much more convenient and I bet you will learn more by doing it with the Midway Kits.
