I love Christmas lights. They remind me of the people who voted for Obama. They all hang together; half of them don't work, and the ones that do, aren't that bright.
For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do
not understand, no explanation is possible.
A golf course is a willful and deliberate misuse of a perfectly good rifle range.
Any of the .300 magnums RUM, WIN, WBY. If you connect well with any of them you will be satisfied. I personally shoot the Wby. but would be happy with any of them. Your right let it begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The snooty, liberal reporter asked the Army sniper.... "What do you feel every time you take the life of another human being?".... the sniper replied "RECOIL!!"
Close to medium range(within 200-250),the 358 win or 35whelen is hard to beat.
For longer range, the various .8mm-35 mags are pretty damn good at putting em down quick. Yes,you can hunt elk with smaller bore rifles, but the bigger bores seem to knock em down quicker.

Sometimes you earthlings REALLY amaze me!
My first elk was 20 years ago with my Dad's 1966 Rem 30-06, which had previously killed many elk at various distances. My shot with the 06 was a cow at roughly250 yards.
I then "upgraded" to a 300WM, and have taken several bull elk, all under 75 yards! go figure...
OK, no joking. I would say the best elk rifle is one you have faith in and can shoot straight with. Might be a 25-06 for one person and a 375 for another.

Katie Couric, while interviewing a Marine sniper, asked: "What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist?" The Marine shrugged and replied: "Recoil."
Although I am partial to my 7 mm mag for any big game that I hunt, I would have to say that my 300 Win mag is better for elk. I have dropped elk with a 30.06, 7 mm mag and the 300 Win mag but the 300 gave the biggest wallop.
