anyone own a Bushmaster Varminter, 24Fluted Barrel
I been reading quite abit about them and they say the MOA 1/4 in.at 100yrds. I thought 3/4 was great for a semi, but this ishard to believeif it can be achieved with consitancy. Just seeing if anyone has one of these and what their MOA is at 100yrds and so fourth??

I was going to buy that upper from a guy named PJOHNSON he had it listed on here a few weeks ago. We e-mailed back and forth a few times about shipping and the price. Then I went to send himthe paymentthrough PayPal and he didn't have a registered account, so I e-mailed himabout thatand never heard back from him. He must of just been a deadbeat or something. I really wanted that upper too. [:@][:@][:@][:@]

I have the Rock River Varminter. My rifle will shot just under 2 inch groups at 300 yards. I have shot several groups under 1/2 inch at 100 yards, but not a five shot 1/4 inch group yet. IMO the rifle is capable, but I am not. Also IMO the Bushmaster should be able to do the same thing. I know I am really impressed by my Rock River Varminter.
The best part is I am shooting these groups with Black Hills factory ammo-the 50 grain V-max bullet. I bought a bunch of it on sale. I now wish I would have bought a bunch more. Tom.

condor, put a quality barrel with a FF tube on any AR and they'll shoot. My personal RRA varminter will shoot 1/4" often enough to call it a 1/4 MOA rifle, this is with the cheapest reman hunting ammo I can buy.
My OLY K-8 mag in 25 wssm will also break 1/4 moa regularly.
Here is my advise on AR's, they're all about the same, everyone who sells them with the exception of OLY is a parts house, they all buy parts from a pool of vendors, some make a few parts some don't, but they just assemble them.
bushy is ok, as is DPMS, Oly and RRA both have lifetime warranties, Dtech from bemengi mn, does awesome work (he uses oly parts, builds custom AR's for almost parts house prices)
Ya want an AR to really shine, go custom, they use the best parts for the money, and a good barrel, lots of production house AR's claim a match barrel, but mass produced match barrels are hit and miss, one will shoot great, the next one ok, the next one may not be bad, but not good enough to get excited about.
John Hollinger of white oak also builds awesome AR's, just do your homework, alot of good AR's out there.

I read on a few sights that the RRV is tighter around the action to help keep dirt and dust out when in prone position than the bushmaster. I also read they do shoot about the same.. The thing I like about the bushmaster is the flat top reciever..
Ridgerunner, I been looking for something sim to the bushmaster with the floating tube and the 24 inch barrel for more velocity,, but haven't found it yet.. I heard the black barrels was a better item then the S barrel. I did find a bushmaster varmiter 24 fluted black barrel for 950$.. I can't find the sight now it was posted on. Thought I put it in my favorites... I have to look again for it.. The best part it was in my state so It would save me some shipping and other Fed law B.S... I don't think I will get a much better deal than that on that type of gun... Correct me if I am wrong though..

well adco ships for a 4 buck flat rate and the have great prices to, just check the warranty, I know oly and RRA have a lifetime warranty, also a contact addy for mike milli, he owns dedicated technologies and he builds a mean AR dtech1@paulbunyan.net Like I said some AR's are hit and miss in the accuracy department so research alot.

IMO the SS is as accurate as the blued. I would not have said that 10-20 years ago.
"Tighter around the action"-I have no idea what that means.
Chamber, twist, and barrel length are important.
My RR is aSS, 20 inch. 1in8 twist-Which IMO is great for 50 grain bullets and up. If I bought a 24 inch barrel I would go 1in12 for bullets 50 grain and under-which would allow you to attain the higher velocities.
My RR has the Wylde chamber, which is a bit tighter, but not excessively tight. Iprefer the shorter throat.
Ihave had mine for about six months. I have $925 in mine, including shipping and transfer fee. Tom.

A couple of mine, sharting from right, my Oly DTech upper in 25wssm, 22" fluted SUM, 5.5x16.5 nikon monarch in a RRA 1 piece mount, and an RRA NM lower.
A tromix TR-15 20" bull chambered in 458 SOCOM, with 1.5x5 TC.
My RRA varminter 24" EOP 1/8, the 24" needs the 8 twist, if all you shoot is light stuff in a 12 twist you max out at 600 yds, the 75 gr A-max and a long 8 twist makes the 223 a viable 1K rifle. and it'll shoot lighter bullets (50 gr) very well.
A J&T epedition upper 1/9 20" flattop, handy lil rifle for a calling gun.
and the 7615 is there cause its a black rifle, handy lil rifle for carring in the truck.

RR-
How do you like those EOP uppers compared to the regular flattops?
