I was looking at the same caliber from DPMS Panther Arms as well a few months back. I have not been able to afford one, as they are something like $12-1,300, but I hear that they are quality rifles.

Not a thing wrong with them, however in the AR-10 platform, (308, 260, 243 mag length) a rifle will weigh in the neighborhood of 13 pounds. when I was looking for an AR deer rifle I went with a 25 WSSM, it weighs a lil less than a varmint 223, and has plenty of power for deer hunting and it was a good bit cheaper than an AR-10.

I was looking at a site, not sure which one... but anyhow it was showing them under 1000 and the new panther arms rifle is around 8 pounds i think. It shouldnt be that bad because i'll have a bipod anyhow, it's just getting it up through the mountiansHow bad would a .260 tear up a coyote?
