Default Mounts and Rings??

What is a good set of mounts and rings? Is the Warne stuff any good? I decided that I need some mediums instead of the lows that I have on my Ruger. The new stock is a little too high for a good sight picture/cheek mount. I usually use either Weavers or Leupolds, but I am open to other brands.

Thanks

I just bought a Remington 700 270, with Weaver rings. Everyone of my buddies said to change them out. I changed them to Leupolds. I have had great luck with Leupolds! I don't see how they could do the job any better.

IMHO Warne are excellentmounts.

I currently have Warne Maxima Quick Release and Fixed mounts, though my main CF still wears leupy Double Dovetails. All have been rock solid and have no reservations suggesting any of them.

I use Talley almost exclusively. Have a few rifles with Leupolds. But thats all I'll use anymore.

Talley's # 1 and Warne # 2...ya can't go wrong! I have Talley lightweights on a Kimber 84, and Warne's on a .444 Marlin lever gun. They both have been flawless. Good luck.
