Default Savage 17HMR Wins, No Contest!

Finally made it to the range today to shoot 4 newly acquired guns: Savage 93 17HMr, Remington 700 270, Ruger 45 KP345, and Beretta 9mm 92F. Although, I really was impressed with them all, the Savage was the one that stood out. Within 15 minutes I was shootin really good groups(for me) at 3 inches high at 100 yards. The cheap Simmons that came with the gun did pretty well also, but I'm still gonna change it as soon as I can.

I got it on sale for $299. It came with a heavy barrel, thumbhole stock and scope and rings. I'm pretty impressed!

Cheez Louise.

I wonder if Savage makes anything like that in centerfire, but not too expensive.

If you want a 17 in a centerfire, I think you have to go Remington. I'm not sure about that though. I belive they are about the same price as any other Rem 700. Check out their web siite.

Actually, I meant, like a varmit rifle, in standard varmit cartridges, like the .220 Swift, .22-250 Remington, etc. I know Remington makes the SPS Varmit, but I was wondering if Savage makes anything similar to what you have, but in the format I was talking about.
