I shot a buddies .300 win. mag. today to help him sight it in and holey cow did it shoot. With Fed.180gr factories it was clover leafing them in there ,bullet holes vertually touching.Sporting a 3x9 Bushnell 3200 for optics. All Savages shoot and plain as hell, but beauty is as beauty does.He was really amazed when I vapourized a couple golf balls@ the 100yrd mark. He's a new hunter and I got him shooting to boost his confidence level. Also played with a Marlin stainless guide gun in 45-70 and now I need one too.Now that I'm getting older I need bigger guns to see the bullet holes! I'll have to try that one on the wife.............Harold
Hehehehe I like that saying...beauty is as beauty does! I got a cabinet full of ugly black guns as well but they sure do shoot good. Put me on the list for wanting a Guide Gun in the 45/70 as well.
no real suprise with the savage i've shot many and seen alot more shot and i've never seen a gun more accurate right out of the box.

Savage has long been one of the most accurate out-of-the-box standard production rifles made. For the money, they really can't b beat. Too bad many hunters want the cmooth sleek lines over rugged & accuarte dependability.
