Default My new toy

I finally said to hell with waiting for a good deal on a used gun. Here's what I ended up with:

Howa Varminter Supreme .243
Nikon Monarch 5.5-16.5X44 AO
Harris 1A2 "L" 9-13" bipod

Should be a fun gun. Looking forward to shooting it tomorrow.

Good shooting with your new toy. Not that you need a reason for a new toy, what's gonna be in it's sights?

Mostly prairie dogs, coyotes, foxes, targets, and does. Also wolves as soon as they're delisted. It fills the void between my 22LR and 7mm Rem Mag.

Here's what I ended up paying for everything before tax/shipping:

Rifle- $640 (cheapest price I found online was $600 before shipping/ FFL transfer)

Scope-$289 (closeout price at Natchez SS)

Bipod- $65

Leupold Rings/Bases- $40

I finally got to shoot it today, and it's a blast to shoot. Very light recoil, nice smooth action, great optics. Not sure how accurate it is yet, though, because the wind was howling and I had a hard time holding it steady enough to get good groups beyond 50yds.
