Default Armalite AR-30

Does anybody have one? They seem like a pretty good deal for a long range rifle, .308, .300 Win Mag, or .338 Lapua... I always thought they were more expensive then they are.

Which ones? The Armalite is about $1800, depending on options.

jeep, contact Kirby bAllen, for about the same money plus your rem 700 action he'll build you a rifle that will shoot "2" or less at 500 yds or it won't leave his shop" thats what he told me and mine will shoot less than 2" at 700 yds.

Ridge, isn't an AR-30 a semi-auto? You're suggesting something entirely different, a bolt-action, which is fine, and probably better for target shooting, but what if he just wants to go trigger happy? A guy could if its the .308, and maybe get 1 shot off every other second with the .300 Win. Mag., (Wow, that's trigger happy, I know, lol).

Now that I think of it, great suggestion, Ridge, lol.

nope, the AR-30 is a bolt action, as is the AR-50, the semi's are the AR-15 (223 mag length) and the AR 10 (308).

Really?

I saw in a Barret magazine, they were advertising their AR-15's, AR-10's, AR-30's, and AR-50's, and they were all semi-auto.
But, maybe Barret and Armalite are different.

Younggun- Yeah, Barrett and Armalite are different. Armalites are bolt action.

RR- I thought his rifles were a lot more expensive then that, like over $3000. But thats good to know that there not, I'll have to keep him in mind. I'm buying a Benelli SuperSport first and then saving for a long range rig.

the barrett semi is a LA82 I think, have shot one of those, they shoot good and are on the OMG level of cool factor. for shooting extended range, the main thing you need is accuracy, accuracy comes from a good barrel, most smiths building extreme range hunting rifles use the best barrels made (lilja, kreiger, broughton, Rock among a few others) so the accuracy you must have to make LR hunting shots is more easily attainable with a high quality match grade, custom barrel.
My current LR rifle will shoot most groups in the .2's at 100 my groups average about
.8 @300
1.5" @500
3-4" at 750
and 10-12" @ 1000
they don't grow proportionately as range increases, its way more than that, don't know why but thats how it is.
