Default Remington 760 gamemaster

Picked up a decent little .308 pump. Compact and pretty sharp looking too. Was one of 5 rifles at an auction. I never used a pump rifle before, only pump shotguns and bolt rifles. Anyone have any knowledge on this gun? decent shooter? Any help appreciated!! Will probably be for my 12 yr old's first whitetail rifle. Thanks!

Well I dont think you will ever hear anything bad bout them on thisforum. They are pretty highly thought of on here, I have a 760 in 300 Savage....love it. You have a good piece there you didnt go wrong and wont regret buying it. The Remington pump rilfes are almost without fail nice and accurate. Good round and a good gun...

My dad had a 760 Gamemaster Carbine in 30-06. That was a great gun. Everyone i know that has a 760 has a very accurate rifle. Most shoot right around an inch at 100 yards. You got a great rifle there. I wish i could find my dad another one like he had. He has a 7600 now which is the new model of the 760 but its just not the same to him.

Unlike the semi-autos Remington makes using mostly the same parts as for the 760, the 760's have always been highly regarded for both serviceability and accuracy. I believe you made a good purchase......
