Default Which varmint rifle?

I'm getting tired of waiting to find a good deal on a used heavy barrel 243, so I'm thinking about breaking down and buying a new gun. But I'm having a heck of a time deciding which one I should buy- the Savage 12FV, the Ruger M77VT, or the Howa Varminter Supreme. I like the trigger and the barrel on the Savage, I like the integrated rings and the stainless steel on the Ruger, and I like the stock and the action on the Howa. Which one would you guys buy?

If I was going to get one in 243 I would get the savage 12bvs,it has the ss barrel and if you wanted to go a little cheaper I would go with the 12 fv with the blue barrel.

Savage is coming out with a whitetail gun as well with a medium heavy barrel and dipped in Mossy Oak Brush. It can be found on gunbroker, I think they call it the whitetail hunter or something. Have you looked at the new Remington SPS Varmint in 243?

I keep waitin for the day that Tikka comes out with a heavy barreled 243 on their T3 Varmint line.

Have you thought about CZ's also. I have a 527 American that is a great rifle. It hasa set trigger thatdrops trigger pull down to about 1 pound. I got the rifle and scope for under $600 new. Here is a pic of a average 5 shot group at 100 yardsfrom it. I pulled one shot on this pic.

did you see the Savage Predator? My local gunshop owner showed me one last week. Pretty cool - totally camo. This one was in .223. I'm not sure if it comes in the .243 or not. I'm thinking it only comes in .204 and .223.

I like the Ruger M77vt , That rifle had always served me well,I had one in a .243 but one of my friends sons needed a rifle for deer season he chose that one from my gun safe.He wouldnt give it back!!! He killed his first buck at 250 yards so he was hooked on that one,so I got a check and he got a rifle.I have a .220 swift in that rifle and it is a great rifle also it can out shoot me!

I cast another vote for the Ruger VT. They are as accurate as the others and the trigger can be adjusted reasonably low, If you buy it and don't like it sell it to me!
I had 3 until last weekend when a buddy brought a bunch of beers over and talked me out of one in 220 swift.
I had a weak moment, I rarely sell a gun
