Default ....and it shall be named EXCALIBUR

I decided the name of my new rifle shall be EXCALIBUR. I'm planning on having a silver plate added to the stock with it's name on it. I got this tradition from my grandfather he embeded a Gold Morgan Dollar in the stock of his hunting rifle and named it lucky. It really makes the rifle unique and gives a very personal feel to it. Anywho, I was wondering if anyone else does things like this and what they named or did?

I have nicknames for my guitars but they are just something I and the guys in my band know. I haven't gotten to the point of branding them or anything.

I name all my guns but not until they take game. I usally name them based on the game they take. My turkey gun is Jake. My hunting rifle is Mother. etc...

i name some of them..dont write on them of anything...that would be neat though!! i like the coin idea!

my deer rifles name is thumper....ask the deer why

my winchester model 50 12ga is called "master blaster" i swear all i gotta do is pull the trigger and something dies or a target breaks. if i miss with that gun it must been an impossible shot or i really goofed just one of them guns...everything from doves, squirrels, rabbits, pheasants, grouse a fall turkey and more died death to it...

my turkey gun i call "the show stopper" just seems fitting...when it barks the turkeys show is definently over.

Last time I looked at my guns thew were already named.

Winchester M70
Remington 700
Howa 1500
Etc... Etc...

IMO giving an inanimate objects like guns, cars, bikes, etc... a "name" is about like Disney giving deer human qualities in their movies. It's justridiculous. They are simply tools to do a job not loving companions like your kids or dogs.

Never felt the need or desire to name a gun. A bit silly in my opinion. Nameing a gun some "tough" name just does absolutly nothng for me.

I would have run out of names about 20 years ago.

Isn't it Full Metal Jacket where they name their rifles a female name because it's the only.....y'know....that they'll be getting?

hehe

Make sure you keep Excalibur's gun case nearby. You may find it handy.

"Merlin then asked do you like Excalibur, or the Sheath better. Arthur said that he liked the sword. Merlin then told him that the Sheath of Excalibur was worth ten of the swords, because it protects the wearer from loss of blood in battle, and keeps them from being wounded in battle."
