Default Nikon Prostaff BDC

Does anyone have any expierience with the BDC on a magnum? I purchased a Prostaff 3-9x40 bdclast week and want to know what your opinions are. I have this scope mounted on a Savage 110 7mm Remington magnum. Thanks

I have the BDC on my 204 now 6-20 monarch target, and I do not like it much. I would rather have mildot. You have to shoot the distances and find the power on the scope to match up with the rings and remember that. So you might set your scope to 8 power for 500 yards, or 10 power for 400 yards.

With mildot, you can keep power constant and know go down 3 mil or whatever for various distances.

They say you can use the top of the ring for various mil drop.
