Default peep sights..

I have an AR-15 and it has peep or aparture sights on it and i have never shot a firearm with these sights before,so im not totally sure how to aim/use them.Could anyone give me some pointers on how to aim/use them,or maybe there is a site that i could go to,that would tell me how to aim with peep sights.thanks.

My AR has the same thing. General rule, I thought was to aim the front post so the center of the target is right above , and the center of the target is in the center of the peep. I know some like to cover up the center of the target with the front post.

i always shoot with the front post centerd in the rear peep apeture and centered the front post on the target.

i do the same with "iron sights" i put the top of the front sight directly where i wanna hit.

some guys like to put the top of the front post below where they wanna hit..like shown in rebel hogs pic in the top right. i would center my front sight in the middle of that black circle target...thats just how ive always done it...thought it will cover the target..

Yep, what they said basically means "centered mass", you want to center the front sight in the middle of the peep hole and keep it centered on the middle of the target. It's basically an in-expensive scope so just imagine it as one, same concept. It will also help you learn to allign your cheek on the stock if you need it. I would also suggest adding a shooting slingfor this type of "scope". Good luck!

Center the bead at the top of the front post in the center of the peep and in theaim pointof the animal. My 30.06 brush gun has that set up and you can acquire the target real fast. It is surprisingly accurate too.
