Default 300 t/c

this will probably start trouble..... but here is another reason i think the t/c's are over priced. and for one why do you need a fluted single shot. besides looks

Don't jsut show us a pic of an exploded gun. Give us the story behind it.

Was the shooter using hand loaded ammo?
Could there have been an obstruction in the barrel?
Etc... Etc...

Didn't know that T/C made a 300 RUM. Never seen or heard of one. Is it a T/C made barrel?

I have been around Encores for several years and never heard of a factory 300 RUM barrel either. If it is a RUM chambered barrel, my bet is that it has been rechambered or is an aftermarket barrel. Either way, the exploded barrel would not be a T/C problem/defect.

Same here. I can't find it listed anywhere that sells T/C barrels Like Foxridge ect. They list 416 Rigby and 375 H&H and many other standard Magnums like the 7 MM and 300 Win Mag.

Whomever rechambered this barrel to 300RUM is the idiot responsible for the explosion.

The chamber is only 1" in diameter on the encore barrels(a bolt gun barrel is 1.2" or larger) and the RUM case is .553" and that leaves .220" of steel to surround the cartridge. No wonder it exploded.

This is why TC does not chamber the RUM's. They aren't designed to handle this kind of pressure.
