Default Rem. BDL 700 vs Tikka T3 Stainless

I'm a lefty, and am considering getting a 270Win. bolt action (after all, tax refunds came in). I found a new lefty Remington BDL for $700 from my local gunstore and a new lefty Tikka T3 Stainless for $590 online. The website has really cheap shipping, so taxes for the Remington will be almost identicalas shipping and FFL transfer for the Tikka. I've always liked Remingtons, and have no experience with Tikka.

Thanks

I have very accurate rifles in tikka and rem BDL and the new sps.I don't know wether the ss sps comes in left hand or not in the 270 but I think it is just as nice as the ss bdl.I got a blue sps in 22/50 last year thet was $419. and a ss spsin 270 for $459.Both will shoot. Was trying some 110 gr sierra pro hunters yesterday with different powders and had several one holers with the 270 at 100 yds.
Have a ss tikka in 25/06 and varmit model in 308 and both of these will shoot.
I like both brands because they do shoot well and believe you will get an accurate rifle in either one you pick.

If they're both good guns, and the Tikka is stainless and the BDL blued, is the BDL just overpriced then?

No, the BDL is just a nice, fancy rifle, with high gloss etc.
,plus it's made in the U.S.A., while Tikka is a Finnish Rifle, I think.

I'm sure both are good rifles, but it is hard to go wrong with a remington.

Can't go wrong with either weapon. Pick the one that fits/feels the best and get 'er done. One thing to keep in mind the Tikka comes with rings, so that also saves you some green.

I don't think you'll find a more accurate rifle out of the box for the money today than the Tikk T3. Very nice features in an affordable rifle. Same floating barrel made in their cold hammered forging process of high grade steel. Smooth adjustable trigger. Solid scoperings come with. Within sub-MOA accuracy.

Had a winchester model 70 300WM for years and it was all over the place. Bought a Tikka T3 Stainless 300WM 2 yrs ago and love it. Can drive nails with it. Accuracy = confidence. Recommend not using the tikka rings and going to the leupold bases and rings though.

Thanks for all the great advice guys. I'm starting to lean towards the Tikka. I still like the Remington, and I like buying American made guns soldlocally (helps the economy and my local gun dealer), so it's a tough call. I'll still wait a while before taking any action. I've missed a few guns this way, but I'd like to make sure I know what I want before spending my money.
