Default Newbee with a choke tube problem

This is my first post to the forum even though I've been reading it for quite some time. So I have a problem I hope someone can help me with.
My 9 year old son just passed his hunters safety and we are going after a tom on the 7th. He shoots a youth 20 guage Stoeger. We went out to pattern the gun and things don't look good. At 25 yards that gun couldn't kill a bird. The pattern is not tight enough with only 1-4 pellets in the kill zone. My question is do the Benelli chokes fit Stoeger shotguns. If they do not dose anyone know were to find Stoeger tubes.

Can you give us some more info on the shotgun? I'm 90% certain that current shotguns under benelli umbrella should take same threaded choke tubes.

Try different loads. Just like with rifles, each bbl will have it's preferred loading. Gota find what one works best in your particular shotgun.

What choke were you using? You will need at least a full, most likely an extra full if you want any distance out of it.

try different shells and different chokes. the best turkey shells are remington wingmaster HD, remington duplex 4x6, federal mag-shok w/ flitecontrol wad, winchester elite xtended range, and hevi shot's hevi-13. those pattern well in most any guns. i am getting 37" patterns w/ XX full choke and wingmaster shells and 17 critical hits at 65 yards. go for at least 10+ critical hits, good luck

http://www.tjgeneralstore.com/choke_tubes.htm

If you scroll to the end of the page, it has a listing of choke tube compatability.

Stoegers will take Benelli and Beretta chokes.

I ordered a carlson extra full turkey for a benelli and I hope it fits. If it does not shoot good with the shells I got I'm going to try the Hevi-Shot 13 turkey next.

Thanks for all the tips guys.--Torey

The best 20 ga shell is the Hevi-13 #6. My mossberg 500 puts around 100 pellets in a 10" circle at a measured 40 yds. I shoot Hastings choke .572. You can go down to .550 in 20ga. You can check out the NWTF message boards. Asking there could save you some money in the long run. There are serval competent people on there. They can tell you what combo will work best for you.
