Default Rifle Identification - Name that rifle

Hope someone can shed some light on this rifle for me. I know it's a Turkish Mauser, marked ANKARA and I know it's dated 1944, but I don't know much else.....barrel is about 23 1/2" long.
Would be interested in knowing what it's worth, if it has any value as a collector piece, or as a project platform.
I'm guessing its just a Plain Jane Turkish 98, so will probably end up just owning it and shooting it for fun, but.... Could it handle 8mm/06 AI loads? I'm itching to build an 8mm/06 AI but don't know if this action is up to it.

What say you folks?

Thanks Ridge Runner!!!

Now maybe somebody can give me some opinions about the gun itself.

The pic that shows the piece of paper is a copy of what's written on top of the receiver.
All thoughts welcome.

Its a Turkish 38/46 carbine.
These aren't very common.
Value for these is around $150-200+ depending on condition and if the bolt serial# matches the receiver. Yours appears to be in very nice condition as far as Turks go, its worth the upper end of the range.
They were mostly built on 1903 or M38 actions, your's is a 1938 action.

Nice rifle btw.
