Hello everyone!
Anyone using a Husqvarna model 1640 cal 9,3x62 (made in sweden)
Is it a common caliber in the US?

The Husqnarna was a pretty popular rifle back when the lightweight ones on small-ring commercial Mauser actions were being imported. However, the 9.3X62 has never been a popular cartridge here, as it is generally a little more powerful than MOST U.S. hunters need. I'm sure it is great for elk, moose, and big bears. But MOST American hunters only need a rifle that will kill 150-200 pound deer. Actually, most metric calibers get little use in the U.S., particularly those with Berdan primers, which are a real pain to reload. Importerd ammo costs big bucks these days, and those who use such calibers like to reload them.
In fact, I believe the 9.3X62 is getting more popular here now than ever before. I would sure like to see those Mauser-Husqvarna rifles again-I liked them!
