Default Mossberg 935 & 3 1/2" slugs???

I was thinking of buying the Mossberg 935 with their full rifle slug barrel.
The 935 is a 3 1/2" gun and was wondering if anyone has ever or been shooting 3 1/2" slugs?
Advantages or disadvantages????
I was thinking of buying it just for deer hunting.
Buckshot in the field barrel and slugs in the rifled.
I was thinking that the 3 1/2 will give me some more range and knock down power.
Is this thinking right????

And a very sore shoulder. I only shoot plain ole Remington $1.99 a box
2 3/4 slugs. And, have taken deer out to 135 yards with them. It's all in the confidence you have in your gun. Just my opinion.

Never really seen a production 3-1/2 inch slug..
You really don't need anymore "knock down" with a slug, the 2-3/4 are plenty.. The 2-3/4 will give you a bit more distance when shooting also vs. 3in but it's minimal..
Not to mention I wouldn't want to punish myself with a 3-1/2 inch slug.. wheew...

I believe that lightfield makes a 3 1/2 slug, but I will stick to my 2 3/4. They pack a whollop. I have a mossberg 500 with a rifled slug barrel shooting lightfield hybred sabots and im getting 5-6 inch groups at 100 yards. Im sure most get better groups than I do, but i was kinda impressed. Its a huge hunk of lead. Im headed back out to the range this week to see if I can dial it in a little bit more.
What I would suggest get a gun that can shoot 3 1/2's and give them a try. To each his own.

heres the link to the 3 1/2 lightfields, im sure others make them also

I've never seen one, and with the quality of some of the new 2.75 and 3"ers, I cant honestly see the need.

You may have accuracy problems shooting 2-3/4" shells in the extra long 3-1/2" chamber. The "jump" from the end of the shell to the end of the chamber is significant. Try some out and see. If you get flyers, stick with the 3" shells.

Good Hunting,
