Picked it up today my new Marlin 1895GS 45-70

Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are:
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

I have no use for a 45/70, but I am still jealous. Congrats! What is your intended use for your new gun?

Hunting big Game.

Starting with hogs, and Deer in FL this year. Plan to hit the Range Sunday. I am sure I will spend more time shooting there then in the woods. Allso looking at a Black Bear trip Back Home in North GA.

Let us know how she shoots. I been eying those Marlins lately, although I'm leaning toward the 30-30. I miss my Model 94 that was burglared years ago when I was young and dumb.I took my first deer with that rifle. Sniff...[&:]
