Have you already stripped it? You may need whiting to remove excess oil where oil from action and barrel has seeped into stock over the years.I really can't answer your question unless I know how you want it to turn out. Do you want factory,glossy,satin,or what? If you just want a good tough finish,brownells custom oil,or acracoat is hard to beat. I usually blend my stains to achieve desired color/result.
