Dont waste your time with a 3.5in barrel or a slug barrel for it. There is just way too much recoil. Save and get a Remington or a Mossberg in 3.5in. The Mossbergs still kick quite a bit but nowhere near what that NEF is going to kick.

If you want to hunt deer get the 20 ga heavy barrel with the scope mount. You can also get a steel bar for the stock that will add weight and help soak up recoil (not to fun to carry though). Basically you would have a H&R ultra slugger.

If you wanted to shoot smooth bore with rifled slugs get a barrel with interchangable choke tubes and some sort of adjustable sights. This way you could put an extra full tube in it for turkeys, a modified for small game and an I/C choke for shooting slugs (modified works to sometimes). This would not be as accurate as the 20 ga rifled bull barrel, but if your shots will be 60 or so yards and in you should probably be ok with the smooth bore and rifled slugs. Especially if the barrel has sights on it you can adjust for the slugs.

You don't need a 3 1/2 for turkeys, 3 inch mag turkey shells will be plenty and kick like the dickens.

Well i'm a big boy so i should be able to handle the recoil from the slug barrel. Those of you who are saying buy another gun, thats not a possibility right now. I just bought that Single Shot and i don't have the money right now to go buy a new gun. Not only do i have car insurance and cell phone bill i have to buy all my accessories for my gun and i'm saving up to help pay for my gastric bypass surgery. If i had the money i would have bought the 870 in the first place. I guess i'm going to have to call their customer service number and figure out which of their barrels is rivetted or w/e so i can put a screw in choke in it because i can't with my current barrel.

Thanks for your guys' help and advice, i can always count on you for help.
