Default Buttstock Extensions?

Im 6'7" and the gun stocks provided by oem are insufficient in terms of LOP. I am looking at various extension methods and the easiest solution appears to be an extension plate. Has anybody ever installed one of these on their own rifle? How hard was it to grind down to look flush or even with the stock? What brand of buttstock extension did you use and are you satisfied with it?

I can not help you in regards to extensions. I have only had to add a thicker recoil pad in order to get desired length, but since your 6'7" I can understand why you would require some sort of extension or new stock.

i just got one myself in 1/2 inch. was wondering myself how hard they are to grind down and make look good. i have used a slip on simms pad over what came on my gun also. it works but not as clean looking.

Don't know if it's any help or not, but watched a 'smith use a piece of matching hardwood, sanded it to the stock contour, added finishthen added a Limbsaver pad. After it was finished looked like it added almost 2" to the LOP.
