Default sig pistols...

anyone have any expirience with sigs new DAK triggers?? looks like they done away with the hammers, hammer let down etc and went to double action only. said its supposed to be a nice smooth 6.5lb trigger pull. just curious as to how they are. ive always been a sig fan. that first double action shot with the old trigger pull was rough..but single action i loved it..and loved the hammer let down. anyone have info on their new stuff?? thanx...just curious..hopefully be shopping here in a year and was kinda shocked sig did something like that.

I haven't gotten my hands on one yet, but I hear the pull is lighter than their old DAOs, is VERY smooth, and has two trigger reset points in the return stroke. Even if you short-stroke it, you'll still get the hammer to swing again -it'll just be a bit heavier than if you had reset the trigger all the way.

The Texas Rangers (DPS) are using the DAKsin .357 SIG. Can't be too bad.

Why? Probably because lots of law enforcement types are leaning towards a single constant weight trigger pull on their dept's duty guns instead of the old TDAor the politically incorrect SA guns. It's one of the same reasons guns like Glock, and soon the XD are so popular with LE, or at least with those depts that do notdemand a manual safety in an attempt to decrease the number of officers that are shot with their own guns in gun-grab scenarios.

i am noticing more and more LE using double actions and sig actually says thats why they are doing it. hopefully dad buys one so i can play with it before i make my decision. i always liked the old sigs. i dont mind glocks either..but always favored sigs. so long the trigger pull is nice im sure they are fine pistols. thats mainly what i was wondering. maybe i will like them MORE. in a draw and shoot situation that first shot with a sig is boung to be a flyer. ther trigger pull was just to much..so maybe ill like them even more.

now i want my hands on one!! im heading for the LE field and but first ill probably buy something a little smaller for carry and range practice. dad got me a p226 when i was a bit younger. if our schedules didnt meet up to goto the range together it got no use..so we decided to trade it for a turkey gun for me. but next year ill be of age to take it to the range myself..

Sigs are quality guns.
If it fits you and you like the trigger, you'll get lots of enjoyment out of it.
It should alsolast long enough to be passed down to your kids, unless you compete every weekend or abuse it.

Enjoy.

lol bulzeye..thats about the truth. i been shooting sigs for roughly 6-8yrs years. though im only 20 in a month, ive been shooting since i could pee straight. one of the first guns i shot was one of dads revolvers with a 38 in it. i dang near dropped that sucker!! i was maybe 5 or 6. shot aloooot of 22s before that and knew how to handle guns etc and dad was right there..after that i was hooked. dad got alot of pistols..now that im in college i havent got to shoot much the passed 2 years...but we used to shoot ATLEAST once or twice a week. always did like the sigs. just talked to him tonight..he was online ordering a holster..i told him he needed to order me one for my bday..hes like your gunna be 21?!?! i was like noooo a year..hes like well im not buyin you a good pistol and a good holster till then so just wait another year!! never expected him to foot the bill!!! lol. maybe ill just forget the sigs and tell him i want his compact kimber!! we will see...hopefully he got one of the new Sigs by then and i will get a chance to see if i like em or not..
